Happy National Receptionist Day!
I love my job as a receptionist as every day is different! No two days are the same, and because every guest stay is different, you never know what is going to happen next. I love meeting all our new guests and getting to know them along with seeing all our regular guests and welcoming them back.
The apprenticeship has really helped me have a better understanding of the type of leader I would like to be. It has allowed me to recognise my strengths and weaknesses and I feel I have really developed not only as an individual but also with my team.
The best thing to happen on a shift is when a guest gives positive feedback. When someone says ‘they’ve had the most amazing time’, knowing you have played a part of that is really special.
My advice for a new receptionist, I strongly believe in treating every guest the way you wish to be treated, after all, they are on holiday!
Communication and organisation are key and never forget to always wear a smile!
