Umbrella Training hosts 2,000 young people in Virtual Reality Hotel

Umbrella Training, a leading nationwide training and apprenticeship provider for the hospitality sector, hosted more than 2,000 young people and their families at a virtual hotel, showcasing career opportunities within the industry.Held at Skills London this week, the virtual reality hotel was home to Augmented reality case studies of apprentices, marketplace quiz and the VR Hotel.Skills London is the UK’s largest jobs and careers event for 15 – 24-year olds.

Taking place at ExCeL, the two-day event provided young people with the opportunity to find inspiration and make a life- changing connection with employers from across the country.Established in 2005, Skills London attracts over 34,000 visitors and provides young people with a rare chance to discover careers through interactive, inspirational activities and demonstrations. The event also helps young people visually bridge the gap between what they enjoy doing and what they could potentially do as a career.As well as showcasing jobs and careers directly to young people, Skills London reaches more than 2,000 teachers and careers professionals.

This is the 3rd year Umbrella Training has supported the event. The company hosted the virtual reality hotel alongside business partners from The Ritz, RAF Club, The Goring Hotel, Strand Palace Hotel, Hyatt, Melia Hotels, Park Plaza, Marriott, Sarova Hotels, Firmdale Hotels, Red Carnation Hotel Collection, Caterer.com and Rosewood.
