Welcoming The CRUMBS Project as Our Newest Charity Partner

At Umbrella Training, our Doing Business for Good strategy is more than a commitment. It is a responsibility to uplift communities, champion opportunity and support organisations that change lives. Today, we are proud to announce the newest addition to our charity partners: The CRUMBS Project.

This inspiring organisation empowers adults with a range of disabilities by providing high quality training in catering, housekeeping, business administration and food safety. Their mission aligns perfectly with ours: creating pathways, building confidence and opening doors for those who deserve every chance to shine.

Celebrating Achievement at The CRUMBS Awards Lunch

Our CEO, Adele Oxberry MIoD FLPI FCFE, and Executive Director, Sam Coulstock FIH FIEP, had the pleasure of attending The Crumbs Trainees Awards Lunch. Umbrella Training proudly sponsored the awards and medals, recognising the dedication, resilience and hard work of each trainee.

The event was a celebration of possibility. Every trainee showcased the power of learning, support and meaningful opportunity. It was a privilege to stand beside Professor Peter Jones MBE, Ursula Boardman and Lee Whalley, whose passion for the charity continues to drive its impact.

Welcoming Our New Apprentice

During the visit, we also had the chance to meet George, our newest Commis Chef Apprentice, who joins Umbrella Training this week through The CRUMBS Project. George’s journey exemplifies why partnerships like this matter. When organisations come together with shared values, incredible talent emerges.

We are excited to support George as he begins his apprenticeship and look forward to witnessing the contribution he will make to our industry.

A Partnership with Purpose

The CRUMBS Project joins our growing family of charity partners as we continue to expand the reach of our Doing Business for Good strategy. This new relationship marks the start of what we know will be a long, meaningful and impactful partnership.

Together, we look forward to creating opportunities, championing inclusion, and supporting individuals in building fulfilling careers in hospitality.

Sam Coulstock FIH FIEP, Executive Director at Umbrella Training, said, “Partnering with The CRUMBS Project is a proud moment for us at Umbrella Training. Their commitment to building confidence, skills and independence mirrors our own belief that everyone deserves the chance to thrive. This partnership isn’t just about supporting a charity; it’s about investing in people, opening doors, and helping talented individuals like George take their next steps toward a rewarding career. We’re excited for the impact we can create together.”

Professor Peter Jones MBE, Chairman of The Crumbs Project, said, ”Absolutely delighted to welcome you today to our Awards. It is partnerships like this that help create real opportunity and lasting impact. We’re incredibly excited about the journey ahead and look forward to building a strong, productive and inspiring collaboration that will make a meaningful difference for the people we serve. We are grateful for your support and sponsorship and look forward to a very productive partnership.”
