Beyond the Pass is an innovative Skills Bootcamp designed to help hospitality businesses address critical leadership and supervisory skills gaps within their kitchen teams.

Created in collaboration with leading hospitality employers, this practical 8-week programme equips aspiring and existing Chef de Parties and Culinary Supervisors with the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to lead high-performing teams and progress into management roles.

The programme combines flexible online learning with practical workplace application, ensuring learners can immediately implement new skills within their day-to-day role.

This programme is open to all learners in London only.

Learners must have the right to work in the UK and be able to commit to completing the 8-week programme. Learners must also live in London and provide proof of residency.

Programme Content

Learners will complete eight industry-focused units:

1. Foundations of Leadership in Hospitality

Develop the core behaviours and skills required to lead successful teams within hospitality environments.

2. Communication on the Line & Managing Conflict

Build confidence in communication techniques and learn how to manage challenging situations effectively.

3. Supporting Mental Health & Wellbeing

Understand how to support wellbeing in the workplace and create healthier team cultures.

4. Training and Developing Teams

Learn how to coach, mentor and develop team members while managing resistance to change.

5. Job Crafting & Career Progression

Explore strategies for personal development and creating meaningful career pathways.

6. Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Neurodiversity

Develop inclusive leadership skills and create environments where everyone can thrive.

7. Technology for Kitchen Leaders

Understand how digital systems and technology can improve efficiency, communication and operational performance.

8. Nutrition & Final Assessment

Consolidate learning through a final assessment and enhance understanding of nutrition within hospitality operations.

All onboarding sessions take place at the Imperial Hotel, London.

Employer Contribution

This Skills Bootcamp is heavily funded, making high-quality leadership development accessible for hospitality employers.

Large Employers

30% contribution: £999 per learner

Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs)

10% contribution: £333 per learner

The remaining funding is provided by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and the Department for Work & Pensions.
