Hello and welcome

A huge hello and a warm welcome to Umbrella Training and your apprenticeship.

On behalf of everybody at Umbrella Training, we just wanted to say that we are very excited that you are 'Under Our Umbrella' and will support you every step of the way.

This handbook has been designed to be a useful tool for your apprenticeship as it has lots of information and advice. Please take time to read it and keep it handy so you can refer back to it at any point.

 Safeguarding you on your apprenticeship

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding is the term used for protecting people from maltreatment and keeping individuals safe and protected from harm, abuse and neglect.

Umbrella Training take this very seriously and aims to protect every learner and colleague who works with us. The welfare of our learners and colleagues is paramount and every action will be taken to respond to known or suspected abuse.

What can I report?

Safeguarding is not a complaint about your employment terms and conditions unless you are experiencing abuse in your workplace or from individuals.

Abuse can take many forms, such as:

  • Physical Abuse

  • Emotional Abuse

  • Financial Abuse

  • Sexual Abuse

  • Neglect

If you or you suspect someone else is being abused, or neglected you should tell someone you trust at Umbrella as soon as possible by getting in touch with our designated safeguarding officer (DSO).
