The host of the Purple Umbrella Awards 2023 has been announced

🌸💜☂️ We are delighted to announce that Shelina Permalloo, TV Chef, Restaurateur and Cookery Author is our host for the Purple Umbrella Awards 2023 🌸💜☂️

Shelina was crowned BBC’s MasterChef Champion in 2012 and went on to launch into a TV and media career, as well as publishing her first cookbook ‘Sunshine on a Plate’. Shelina opened her first restaurant Lakaz Maman in Southampton in 2016, inspired by modern Mauritian street food, which is run by an all-female management team, a legendary and rare situation in the field of hospitality!

With a previous background in project management specialising in equality, diversity, and inclusion along with her current love of culinary and all things hospitality, Shelina understands why these awards are so exciting to the industry.

We can't wait to celebrate with you all and Shelina on the 8th September 2023 at BAFTA, Piccadilly London.
