Launch of the Culinary Club
Hello and Welcome to the Umbrella Training’s new #CulinaryClub!
This club is set around providing educational and entertaining trips and meetings for our apprentices to attend.
This club will allow you to develop new and interesting skills of which you can efficiently apply in their workplace and develop your own skill set from these experiences.
This Club will pride itself in offering only the best, quality trips to our apprentices and will make sure every trip is as entertaining as the last! So from us at Umbrella, we introduce you to our very own Culinary Club.
To celebrate the launch of our Culinary Club, we are holding events at Borough Market and Billingsgate! For a lesson on fruit and veg as well as learning about fresh Fish with the some of the best experts in the trade.
Borough Market – 9 March 2017, 10am
Our second event is Borough Market. This market takes pride in only providing the most juicy and delicious fruits & veg in London to its customers.
Being one of the best and most well-known Fruit & Veg markets is a lot to hold a reputation for, however they have done just that as they still lead in producing the best fruit & veg. This trip will be teaching the apprentices all the basics of fruit and veg sold in the market and will help teach the apprentices how to cut, slice, peel and have the up most care in handling the delicate fruits of London.
This trip will be as entertaining as the last and will begin on the 9th March at 10.00am Led by Celia Brooks!
Sea Food School at Billingsgate – 24 January 2017, 6am!
The Sea Food School at Billingsgate is one of the finest Fish markets known in the UK. From its wide range of select fish caught in the morning, to its rarer caught selection, this market has every type of fish you could ask for! This trip will allow our apprentices to have an insight as to how the fish is cut, packaged and distributed to restaurants around London during the early hours of the morning. It will include a full tour of the market, as well as lessons on how to prepare the fish.
Not to mention the best and brightest Sea Food experts will be helping and teaching the apprentices valuable skills in the culinary world! This event will take place on the 24th of January at an early yet eventful start of 6.00am.
Both trips will provide a substantial amount of information to you and enlighten you with new skills and training that will help you with your apprenticeship to be creative and new.
To end our first newsletter, a big thank you to all who have made it this far with us! We only look to aim higher and achieve more in the coming years.
